Bharat is a duty solicitor and Higher Courts Advocate who joined Saunders in 2017, having qualified in 2005. He regularly appears as an advocate in the Magistrates Court and the Crown Court, and is known for his trial advocacy. He fearlessly fights for his client’s interests and accepts instructions both on a legal aid or private basis. He gives straight forward and honest advice to clients.
Bharat has particular experience in fraud and money laundering cases and specialises in confiscation proceedings and enforcement. In his career, Bharat has defended a broad spectrum of criminal cases including murder, armed robbery, the importation and supply of drugs, large-scale cannabis cultivations, sex-trafficking, riot and violent disorder, and money laundering. Bharat has defended against a range of opponents from the CPS and SFO to Local Authority and Trading Standards.
